Vocational Education and Training - VET (formal and non-formal)
In Turkey, we conducted a project is to assist the Turkish Government, through the Ministry of National Education, in the process of modernisation and adaptation of the VET system to the socio-economic needs of the country and to the principles of life-long learning. This would lead to the development of a modern, flexible and high quality vocational education and training system responsive to the needs of the labour market and well integrated with the primary, general secondary as well as higher education system.
In Sri Lanka, the government is executing the Skills Development Project aimed at reforming the VT sector through improvement of quality and relevance of Skills Development programmes, accessibility and efficiency of delivery systems of the Vocational Training sector. A reform of the VT sector aims at seeking solutions to preventing problems of unemployment, mismatch between training & job opportunities and inadequate participation of private sector.
